Easy Makeup brush tips: 4 Best tips on caring for your makeup brushes
Below are the best INEXPENSIVE tips on keeping your make brushes looking great and clean! Your face ISN'T the only one that needs loving and washing, makeup brushes do too!
Tip #1 Wash them Often
Wash them often, especially your foundation brush (include your beauty blender in this category) before every use. Eye shadow and other brushes a minimum of once weekly. This reduces bacteria and I also saw less acne break outs. Now that’s mind blowing!
Tip #2 Use a brush cleaner
Use baby shampoo or a normal brush cleaner sold at your favorite beauty stores to cleanse your brushes. I’ve tried to use other soap alternatives but it left my brushes dull and irritated my skin. So stick to cleaners catered to makeup brushes. I’ve even gone the extra step to condition my brushes, since some of these brushes can be very pricey. It also helps them last and reshape better when drying.
Tip#3 Use alcohol
If you want to skip the washing of your brushes because of lack of time you can also use a color switch, which allows you to change colors and not switch brushes, very clever! Another option is a liquid antibacterial brush cleaner (usually alcohol based), they are just as effective and no h2o needed. Just keep in mind you should still be washing your brushes weekly.
Tip #4 Hang them upside down to dry
Laying out your brushes to dry preferably upside down helps them retain their normal form, helping them last longer. This also avoids water from dripping back into the brush handle. I will even go the extra step if I have time to blow dry them on a low setting for quicker drying versus drying them with a towel. Its recommend that you don’t dry you hair with a cotton towel, applying the same rules to your brushes unexpectedly helps!
